Inspired by American traditional nautical mermaid art. However, the twist lies in this siren’s empowerment stemming from her own realization of her beauty. While the siren’s traditional mythological narrative dictates a power that roots from her ability to entrance male sailors- my mermaid recognizes her beauty through her own reflection, entirely eliminating the need for the male validation to fuel her vanity.
